Totems In Africa: In Africa different families have totems associated with their families and their surnames. These totems are named after animals.African people have a culture steeped in witchcraft and ancestral worship so it is not easy for many to understand and receive teachings about these things. Many proudly claim these totems not knowing that demonic animalistic behavior arises because of these so called sacred symbols.
Many of our people are actually afraid to stand up to relatives when they proclaim these totems over us. I boldly refuse! Even when my mother tries to call me by the family totem I ask her not to. Be bold as a child of God! Your relatives will not always be there for you when you are suffering and fighting against. evil spirits that attack because of certain customs and ungodly practices.
Use wisdom and the love of God and politely but firmly refuse to be involved in tombstone unveiling and many other traditions.

I approached my spiritual father to ask him why l was unable to buy a pair of trousers, a television or furniture for my home because I had a cardboard box for a television. My spiritual father then asked me, "why do I see a monkey on your shoulder, what is your totem?” I told him that my totem was soko mukanya "A monkey”. He prayed and delivered me and he even saw a monkey leap off my shoulder and after that I was able to buy my first television.
When I asked the Holy Spirit what. exactly this meant and why I was failing to buy a television, He asked me this question, "Can a monkey watch television or sit on sofas?” I used to love the chanting of my name after I’ve done something good, as is our custom but I did not know that there were demons that had shapes and sizes emanating from these demons.Extracted From A Book By Prophet Blessing Chiza - The Power Of A Name.
